1. Overview

By purchasing from 1 OAK Modern, you agree to the following terms. All products are handcrafted, restored, or custom-built, and may carry natural variations in materials and finish. These characteristics are not considered defects.


2. Product Descriptions

We make every effort to display products accurately. However:

  • Wood grain, colour, and texture may vary.

  • Lighting, screens, and natural aging can alter appearance.

  • Vintage pieces may include subtle imperfections consistent with age.

These variations are expected and not grounds for returns or refunds.


3. Vintage Items — Final Sale

All vintage and refinished items are final sale.
No refunds or exchanges are offered on these items.
We offer up to 2–3 minor touch-ups within 12 months (finish wear, colour correction, hardware tightening). Touch-ups do not cover misuse, water damage, heat damage, or accidents.


4. Custom Builds — No Refunds After Production Begins

All custom-built pieces are made to order.
Once production begins, the order cannot be canceled or refunded.

1 OAK Modern provides:

  • Free repairs for structural defects reported within 12 months

  • Free minor adjustments (levelling, hardware alignment) within 6 months

Structural defects do not include natural wood variations, small knots, or minor tonal differences.


5. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for verifying all measurements before ordering, including:

  • Doorways

  • Elevators

  • Stairwells

  • Hallways

  • Final placement size

If the piece does not fit into the home, 1 OAK Modern is not responsible for refunds or returns.


6. Deposits

Custom orders may require a non-refundable deposit. The deposit secures materials and labour scheduling and cannot be returned once work has started.


7. Lead Times

Lead times are estimates and may shift due to materials, workload, or unexpected delays.
Delays do not qualify for cancellation or refunds.


8. Shipping & Delivery

Local delivery is available for an additional fee.
Any damage caused during third-party shipping must be reported within 48 hours with photos.
We will assist in repair, replacement, or filing a carrier claim, depending on the situation.


9. Warranty

We provide a 12-month craftsmanship warranty on custom builds covering:

  • Structural issues

  • Drawer misalignment

  • Hardware stability

This warranty does not cover misuse, environmental damage, spills, heat, or pet-related damage.

Vintage items are not covered by warranty due to their age, but they qualify for the complimentary touch-ups noted above.


10. Care & Maintenance

Clients are responsible for following proper care instructions.
Lack of care or misuse voids all touch-up and repair agreements.


11. Liability

1 OAK Modern is not liable for:

  • Damages caused by misuse, accidents, or improper care

  • Injuries resulting from improper anchoring or installation

  • Delays due to suppliers, carriers, or material shortages


12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time.
Changes apply to future orders only.
